MYCOLOGICAL EXAMINATION
When we suspect mycosis of skin or nails we take nail burs and skin scales and these are examined in a special laboratory. Immediately we have the first result but the culture results are ready in 3-4 weeks.The patient takes the right treatment and is informed immediately if his disease is contagious or not.
We use the ultramodern Nd YAG LASER of the CYNOSURE company to face onychomycosis with 2 protocols, the first with 3 sessions the 1st ,6th and 12th week and the second with 4 sessions per week.
The aim with both protocols is to reach the temperature of 45- 50 degrees Celcium that kills the fungi.
